SAS pickups?

I'm curious about the Swamp Ash Special pickups that came in the Swamp Ash Special between '06-09, that brief period in between the older design with the 3 way toggle and McCarty pickups and the newer design 25th anniversary with 3 NFs. I remember seeing them for sale on the PRS accessory store at one point but they're no longer there.

What do these compare to in terms of tone and output, compared to either pickups in the PRS lineup or otherwise?

Tone-wise, I think they were most closely related to the Hiland pickups. Once the model changed gears and started using the Narrowfield pups, we discontinued the SAS pickups for sale.

Cool, thanks. I'm guessing not too many were made so if I decide to go that direction in one of my guitars, it would be nice to have options.

Oh, wow! Thanks! I will be in touch about it for sure. The guitar I'm thinking about putting them in isn't currently routed for humbuckers so it might be a little bit before I'm ready for it.
