I bought a used but nearly mint (and terrific in every way) 2004 Santana II recently. Vintage yellow, Brazilan board. Love the guitar and it has become one of my primary gigging instruments.

It has a touch of "Hameritus" around the 12th fret and I was stopping that with 2000 grit sandpaper when I noticed something. The guitar has hidden fret ends? Like a Thorn. I did not know PRS did that. My 3 other PRS Artist guitars do not have this. Just typical fret slots.

Is this normal for a Santana II?

Hey can you take a picture of this, I've
never had a Santana but I am curious to what this is. Would totally appreciate it!

The 1980 West Street Limited also has hidden fret tangs. Very cool option, in my opinion.

The fretboard isn't slotted all the way to the edges. The fret tangs are manually trimmed from the bead/crown before being pressed into the fretboard.
