Hi, I did a search on this topic and didn't find one.

Anyone have experience with one? I'm interested because from the demo's I've heard they are different from anything I have. But should I stay with Core models? (I guess there is no Vela core)

Thanks!

I’ve played one - I would have bought it but I’m holding out for the satin version. All I can say is, it’s a lot of fun. Definitely sounds nothing like my Silver Sky or CE 24, which is exactly what I’m after. Very comfy, neck is typical PRS quality, every note on every string rings out perfectly, and it’s super light. In the little time I played it I found good blues tones, good rock tones, some garage/punk tones - all with ease! (that’s all I play so I didn’t really explore other tones...)

I wouldn’t let the fact that it’s not a core put you off, it’s a great guitar, and it looks the business!

Great guitar, very resonant for such a thin body. I'm sure it has to do with the bridge design. I love the neck pickup, but overall tasty sounds.

Don't sweat it being an S2. The quality is very good. I have one of the reclaimed wood models, so there are some aspects of the prod runs that I can't speak to (like finish), but there's nothing to fear from a quality standpoint in my opinion. Definitely a different sound from anything else in the PRS line, so you can get into some territories you can't reach w/other PRSi.
