Hmm, interesting! Taking the "S2 is a work-horse PRS" to a new level. No fancy top, just a pickguard, fairly standard colors.

I would guess they'll MAP a couple hundred under the regular S2s?

Probably not for me - I like my "furniture guitars" - but the understated look at a more-affordable price might be exactly what some players are looking for.

Now THIS is an idea I can get behind!! Man, the older I get the more I realize i like simple. That Singlecut is calling my name hard.

Yeah, all 3 are $1199 MAP.

I, for one, like the pick guard. Back in my partcaster days prior to playing PRSi, a pickguard could cover up the strangest and ugliest of modifications. :) That makes these the ultimate PRS mod platform.

Price is definitely right. And I am with you on the pickguard. I like 'em, and they do tend to make it easier to fiddle around with the insides of the guitar without anyone knowing. These things look awesome to me.

Actually, that is exactly what I was thinking earlier: these could become the ultimate platform for PRSi-based customizations. Imagine the possibilities of pickups, switches, and other mayhem that could be mounted on/under that pickguard!

After seeing these, I have to believe there's a single coil S2 in the works. A DC3, or a soapbar Mira... something. Those pickguards just look too strat-esque (in a good way).

Exactly the direction the S2 line should continue on IMO. Models that are no longer or never were available as Core models. Love these.

Obviously I agree with all of the above!

Some of us see those pick guards and have the word router as the second thing that comes to mind.
So now besides the Starla I may have to think about that single cut.

Dangit! If only the Singlecut had the same control layout as the others, it would be perfect. But my mind is already humming with ideas on how to mod it!

These are really cool. In my opinion, flamed maple tops never belonged with that carve. This works a lot better.
