S2 Standard Singlecut pickguard swap

Hey there - contemplating switching out the stock black pickguard on a vintage cherry S2 Standard Singlecut (my avatar) to a tortoise one. Also thinking the amber lampshade knobs would go well with the new pickguard. Any thoughts on this color scheme? I recall seeing a listing on reverb with a similar body/pickguard color combo and liking it. Thanks!

Thanks! You're right on the color too... some have reddish tones which would likely be a better match than one with more browns.

Who are you planning to get one from for your SE One? I have a tort pickguard on mine, but it's the ugly red/yellow tortoise, and not the nicer brown tortoise like on my Vela. I haven't found a lot of pickguard vendors who already have an SE One template and offer the brown tortoise material.

I can’t remember. It’s been in my parts drawer. I think it was a random vendor on eBay.

Definitely the Amber knobs if the pickguard is Tortoise. I, too, really like tortoise on a red guitar (if it's a darker red or natural/sunburst type thing).

Might be a good exercise, though, to check out one of the custom pickguard manufacturers (I've used & had great outcomes with Chandler Pickguards aka. Pickguard Planet) to see if there might be a color/style that looks even more exciting.
