S2 Standard 22 Push-Pull for Isolated Coil Split?

Apparently the older S2 Standard 22/24s came with a push-pull pot for splitting, while the newer ones (including the 2024) have a five-way switch. I'm considering a Standard 22, and wondering how feasible it would be to swap out a pot for a push-pull and wire it up for coil-splitting, while keeping the selector switch and the rest of the factory wiring setup the way it is? Specifically, so the neck or bridge could be split individually by activating the push-pull. The selector switch only does blended splits with the factory wiring. Has anyone done this or something similar?

I think your answer is yes- I’d do some more searching on the forum for wiring diagram threads. Should definitely be possible.

I would think it's just a matter of locating the existing tapped leads on the 5 way and grounding it in parallel using a push/pull.

That's probably correct. I assume the Standard 22/24s are wired exactly like the Custom 24s now with the five-way switch, so the wiring mod should be the same on either guitar.

I've seen a YouTube video of someone basically doing this, except they were changing the 3-way switch on the older models to the Custom 24-style 5-way wiring as well - which is now standard - and re-using their existing push/pull for the new coil-split. I haven't found anything on this forum about doing this specifically though.
