Good Evening everyone,

I recently purchased a S2 Custom 22 semi hollow and I'm curious about the electronics on it, specifically where the wiring harness and such were made. I have plans on upgrading the Pickups to 59/09's and I ordered a MannMade tremolo to replace the SE one on it now. I saw in the PRS store that one can order a pre-wired wiring harness and I was figuring that if I'm going to replace the pickups I might as well also upgrade the wiring to bring everything up to US standards. I saw that the s2's that have a pickguard come pre-wired from Korea, so I assume that the electronics on the Semi-hollows are also from Korea, but I was just wondering if someone could verify that for me. Thanks for any info you all can provide.

I have an S2 Mira but I think it is safe to assume the electronics are the same. Mine came with a very mediocre volume pot and 3-way switch. I had to replace the volume pot after about 6 months of use, The push/pull tone is fine, but the 3-way is feeling awfully flimsy. I regret not changing out the switch when I did the volume. I don't care though - the guitar is fantastic value for the money and electronics are chap.

I agree that the S2's are great guitars, I just wish that PRS went with the USA electronics. In the grand scheme I would've happily paid the extra 100$ to get the USA parts and then not have to worry about them in the future. I plan on playing the crap out of this guitar and I don't want to have to worry about the electrics dying on me. They did such a good job with the design and build only to cheapen out on the wiring...SMH.

Where can one purchase these PRS electronics? I'm buying an S2 Singlecut in about 3 weeks or so and have some Tremonti's waiting to be put in something.

I saw the harness in the PRS store (PRS's website)... they had a pre wired harness with the three way toggle and a push-pull tone knob. Unfortunately for the Custom players we have to spring a bit extra for the three way blade switch. I'm not sure if they have the Singlecut 4 knob set up prewired harness or not.

Are the tone/volume parts in the PRS Store the american made ones?

No pots are made in the US these days, all made overseas. But, there are still many different quality levels, tapers, feel, etc., and the standard PRS stuff in the store is as good as it gets.
