Hello,
The past few days has been a fast and furious deep dive into the world of PRS.
I've narrowed down my choices to the models in the thread title. Local availability is essentially non-existent for a hands on comparison.
Below are some details that will hopefully spark some recommendations.
Since I I have high-quality Fender Teles and Strats, I would chose a PRS primarily for its humbucker tones. From what I've heard online, I would definety use the single coil sounds as well. It looks like PRS guitars are designed to cover many bases with just one guitar which is very cool!
I mostly play clean tones - jazz, country, and surf at home with a SS amp. In the past I loved rock music but I'm not a shredder. There may be times when I pratice shred lines in the 25 mile an hour lane behind closed doors.
My hands adapt to neck profiles ranging from a baseball bat U sharp to modern C with an overall preference for chunkier necks.
On a side note, I'm also moving more towards finger style playing but will never totally give up picks.
All of this leads me to believe the S2 McCarty - single or double cut is the better fit for me. No doubt the Custom 24 is versatile guitar.
Thoughts?
