I'd love to see something along these lines. Have also been wondering if they might change to a bevel on the SE semi, since it's one of the few that still has a flat top. Maybe with a Bigsby, like the special SE run? S2 seems like a great place for some more "line exclusive" models.

If there's any hope in an S2, semi-hollow would be the way to go. A lot of labor and materials go into the Hollowbody models. I could see a semi-hollow mahogany body, beveled maple top, single f-hole. Other features could basically be an S2 version of the CU22. It would probably run more $$$ than the S2 CU24, though.

if they'd go with flat-top instead of archtop, they could possible make it stay in the S2 24's price. I'm just guessing here, since the SE Semi-Hollow and the SE 24 are quite similar in price.

I'd like to see an S2 Starla semi hollow - I reckon that'd be way cool.

But then, I'd like a thicker bodied Mira with a Wide/Fat neck and a Bigsby so maybe I'm just weird.

Not me. No more S2s. Now some more SE models...and/or more SE HBs...now THAT would be aweome.
It would be the same as an S2 but nicer looking and a lot cheaper. It wouldn't be assembled in the USA but other than that, it would be pretty much the same as an SE no? And I guess that if Assembled in the USA are words that you want, when you get the SE home, disassemble it and put it back together. BOOM!! Assembled in the USA using foreign woods and components. Everything except the upcharge!!

I just don't see the benefit of a lot more S2s. A lot of people want to see an S2 acoustic but...what would be different/upgraded over the SE Angelus models? Solid sides? Different Korean tuners?

An SE bass guitar...and an SE hollowbody (true hollow..the ZMs are beautiful and kind of hollow but...) would be nice to see but...
Ahhh...I guess I'm just never gonna "get" the S2 line. I seem to do nothing but complain about them. Just because I don't like something doesn't mean no one else will or does.
I just really really LOVE the SEs. They are SO good. AND I love the old WT carve.

I'm sure the S2s are great guitars. With me it's just that I cant get over the pricing and the way they call them entry level AMERICAN PRSs.
Different strokes though.
I feel that Gibson and Fender are doing the "affordable" and actually made in America guitars that sell for a LOT less than the "American assembled" S2s properly.

That's just me though.
I actually thought that the S2 line would have been discontinued due to lackluster sales but that is clearly not the case. Looks like PRS was right and that there is a market for these in today's economic climate. Hmm.
I'm still gonna stick with the core USA guitars and the SEs. AND if the SEs continue to be this good...or if somehow they get even BETTER, well I predict that I might not even own a single American made PRS before too long.

To me any PRS is a great PRS these days. Core, SE and even S2. You just cant really go wrong. It's mostly all about the price and the "assembled in USA" stuff that I'm not OK with as far as the S2s go. That means I am free to not buy one. Doesn't mean no one else should. Doesn't mean that a HB S2 is a bad idea. It just isn't a good idea for ME!!

turn the s2 single cut into a semi but with master vol, master tone and a 3 way toggle. then make the s2 cu 22 into a semi with a 5 way slide. The control layouts would allow for any pickup combos if folks don't desire the s2 line of pickups.

I'm not sure why you keep calling the S2's "Assembled in the US"? The S2 guitars are BUILT in the US. Sure some of the parts are sourced outside of the US, but so are some of the parts used on the Core models. For example, the Phase III tuners are manufactured in Japan. Does that mean the core guitars aren't "Made in the USA"? Where do you think Brazilian Rosewood, Indian Rosewood and South American Mahogany come from? (Hint: Not USA). Do you think a Chevy is built using only American parts? Do you think a Porsche is built using only German parts?

Long story short, we build/produce/manufacture/craft the S2 guitar bodies and necks in our one factory in Stevensville Maryland. Next, we sand, stain, spray, buff and assemble the S2 guitars in that same Stevensville Maryland factory. Some of the S2 hardware comes from Korea, some of it comes from Japan and some of it comes from the United States.

Yeah, it's sad to see someone choose to be blatantly ignorant of the facts, and then spew hate based on that ignorance. Happens in politics all the time, which is (part of) why I avoid political debates, but it's especially sad when it happens with guitars, because guitars are awesome and deserve our love and attention.
