Hi, folks!

I've done some searching here already and elsewhere but haven't seen any recent discussions about this and no single thread that seems comprehensive.

I'm looking to replace the adjustable stoptail on my S2 Singlecut Standard and looking at a few different options. The primary ones I'm looking at are:

-Mannmade
-Schroeder
-Schaller Signum
-Tonepros

I'm really wanting to go with locking studs (which I realize mannmade doesn't offer but I think I can swap in locking studs with their bridge?), fix the lean issue (I realize it's not an "issue" per se but would still like to fix that), and find something that doesn't break up the aesthetic in a huge way.

Anyone have firsthand knowledge with a few of these that can offer pros/cons?

I've used the PRS and the MannMade adjustables with great success!!!

Can confirm that the Mannmade bridge works with the Tonepros locking studs, IF you have enough clearance from the bridge to the body. The Mannmade adjustable stoptail is taller than the one piece, non adjustable PRS bridge, I’m not sure how tall it is compared to the PRS adjustable, but if there’s not enough room you won’t be able to lower your action to the desired height.

You can get both a bridge and locking studs from Schroeder guitars. I have them on an SE Singlecut. I have a core 1 piece on two guitars., 1 with locking studs and 1 without. I actually prefer the one piece with brass studs sonically. Who cares about the lean?

Confirmed on a Paul’s se that you can’t use the adjustable. The pitch angle of the neck is not correct. This is not a problem for the Zach myers.

Having said that: the guitar in question has an adjustable. You can buy adjustable or non adjustable stop tails.

I too vote MannMade. But I say go one step further and swap the studwells as well as the studs. The studwells on older s2 used se pot zinc. I say go for brass. MannMade wells work great. Very easy to install if you buy a long threaded m8 screw. Similar to how some people will buy kits to replace the wells on gibsons and they come with the screws to remove the old ones. Simply thread the screw and the well will come out with ease.
