SpeechlessArguably the granddaddy of all runs:
I used to have the two in the middle below. Really liked the original 1, 2, & 3 dragons, but was not a big fan of the 25th (except for Brett’s one-off that I was told would never be made, but that’s another story. I think Veinbuster had it for awhile).
In case (pun intended) anyone’s interested, the background panels are quilted sepele.
That 25th is an interesting story. I met it at the factory and took it home with me. But is was made for Brett and he always owned it, right? Stunning top and colour (did I spell that right?) on that one. Post a pic, please.
Also it’s pronounced “al-u-min-ium”,”sol-der” and “o-reg-ano”!![]()
My dad was on a bomber in WW2 stationed in England. He came home and forever got a kick out of pronouncing it that way. Thanks for the memory.![]()
Do you know whereabouts in England he was based?
My thoughts too - somewhere in Norfolk or Lincolnshire as a guess. If you know the staion(s) let us know.
I may be able to find out. My brother recorded a DVD of my dad's memories including the war. I' pretty sure he was a belly gunner on a B26.
Yay!!
On the SC dragon, any idea what material did they use for the teeth and the black boundaries at the gumlines? Just curious.Arguably the granddaddy of all runs:
