Just to clear the air here:

I unfortunately cannot say that I confirmed this. I may have said...I would imagine they will release a 5 string someday...but I certainly had no input in design and dont really know anything about shootouts against other basses. Sorry to burst any bubbles!

That being said, if it happens...Im sure they will be killer!

Well, ya know, if a rumor is repeated enough, it is sometimes taken as fact. And it would be a good PR move for PRS to release a 5-string bass to justify that "fact".
