Rotator cuff

Get old ain’t easy, but I think it beats the alternative. Let’s see….surgeries…..3 nose, 1 throat, both shoulders, 4 on my hands, hernia, left knee replacement…..ah the hell with it. I’m still here. And Monday it’s a cancer screening. My doctor saw something she didn’t like. Let’s just enjoy the ride and the PRSi.

I hope it turns out well!

amen .. both shoulders, knees, ankles , wrists and 12 concussions .. geting old ain't for the timid
Twice broken back, three spine surgeries. Four knee surgeries, three failed Rotator cuff repairs, August 29th, Reverse Right Shoulder replacement. Been a loooong two and a half years with just the shoulder. It’s a ***** and my playing and participation here have been affected. I ain’t giving up;)

Best wishes on becoming "better, stronger, faster than you ever were before - the $6 Million Dollar Man"!

Had my right shoulder repaired a couple of years ago (I’m right handed). Learning to wipe my a$$ left handed was a sh*tty experience.
Assuming that it went well, given your pickleball playing and working out regularly. I have a couple (ha!) old sports injuries that I have lived with for decades and I'm just afraid that there will come a day when suddenly I need 3-4 surgeries in just a couple years. Not looking forward to that.

I ski raced for 20 years , was on the Jr. National Team. I rode Motorcycles for 53 years, and have been a martial artist for 30
wonderful and thrilling pastimes but yeah .. you get banged up a bit if you get it wrong.
Reading through this thread, I wondered how all of those concussions were even possible. That is crazy.

Also, reading through this thread is very revealing. I'll keep this as short as possible. I am 63, and only a few weeks from 64. I played "competitive" sports into my mid 50s. I mean, sponsored softball teams, and "A league" basketball teams, until 50s. In my late 40s, our team won the league in basketball and no other team had two members over 35. Our whole team was over 45! But, every one on our team played college basketball.

Only saying that to say this. When you play hard competitive sports up to the mid 50s, you have bumps and bruises. But you guys make me look like a very blessed man. I've never had a surgery. I had a knee that they told me when I was 16 I couldn't play basketball until I had it operated on. The surgery was major and would have costed me a year of playing, so I didn't. While it cost me a D1 ride, I did play 2 sports in college. I've played multiple other sports over the years (volleyball, flag football, etc) and will all those years of wear and tear, still no surgeries. Half my friends that played into their 30s (including my brother) have had one of both knees replaced. Some have had hips, some both shoulders... I ran into one friend at a reunion 2 years ago who was in complete disbelief that after all these years I've still never had my knee fixed.

Reading this just makes me realize how lucky I am.

Me too. Substantial rotator cuff juries in both shoulders. I was diagnosed in July. It hurts.
I had a shoulder injury a couple years back and had another one in July which has resulted in one tendon no longer attached and another one torn.

I'm being told off work minimum of 6 months..........ugh........not liking this BS but I'm tired of living with pain.

Had my knees looked at too and I will be a double knee replacement kind of guy fairly soon.

This getting old crap is for the birds.........

I broke my back too, it’s unpleasant. I have 9 disc bulges in my spine, and meniscus tears in both knees. I can’t see it ending well, but as long as I can play guitar, I’m happy. 👍 I can’t imaging breaking my back twice, but good luck with it. I hope that you aren’t in too much pain, whatever that means. Pain becomes relative with such injuries.

Wow, that’s amazing. What happened? Mine were sporting/training injuries done 10 years apart. My back operation was 15yrs later. I wish I hadn’t had that operation. I never had the shoulders fixed.

Rolled a Van for the first back issue, second was on a Motorcycle, drive them like you stole them:cool:
That’s hilariously described, but I’m sure that your injuries are pure misery. My right leg hurts all the time from my back injury, as does one shoulder. Luckily, I live in a warm place. I went to the snow once and it was unpleasant. I couldn’t stand another Northern Hemisphere winter.
