Rotary switching question

I got a SE CE 24 for Christmas and I want to upgrade the wiring to the 5 way rotary system. I won't to do this as a tribute to the first PRS I ever wanted which was a Ted Nugent Whackmaster. Do you need to flip the magnet in the bridge pickup for this to work? I'm asking because I've seen it mentioned a few times but the rotary switch and the rotary harness on the PRS Accessories store doesn't mention this. The rotary wiring diagram from PRS has no mention of this either. Thanks for any help.

I think the answer to this is, it depends. The reason I say that is the pickups I have purchased from the PRS store over the past 9 years have had the magnets flipped in them already, when comparing the treble to the bass pickup in the set. I have heard various reasons for why that is. One of those reasons is so that the pickups will work for all of their various wiring options. I only have one PRS with the rotary switch and it is stored pretty deep in the area I have them in so I can't easily pull it out to check the magnet polarity. I believe the magnet was flipped in the bridge pickup for that model. The guitar is stock. You will want to test the pickups you are planning on using to see if one of them has already been flipped.

Yes you most likely will have to flip one magnet.

I have a polarity tester which makes checking polarity pretty simple.

Of course, you could probably switch hot and ground to do the same thing if you don't want to flip magnet.

John Mann guitar vault sells new rotary switches. Circuit board and blue wafer style. There is a difference in cost and combinations they provide.

Wires on what pickups you use must be red black and white 3 wire.

I believe one magnet hast to be flipped. I don't think you can accomplish it with a wiring swap. I can't remember why but that is stuck in my head from many years ago.
