Rotary Switch Pickup Selector change out

Not to revive a popular argument, but I note that many like the tones that the 5 way rotary switch enables, but many don't like changing between switch positions because it is difficult to know where one is currently. Has anyone developed a non round knob for this rotary switch, a knob where one could feel it and know what position was currently selected, and could quickly switch to the desired position? Maybe not as dramatic as a chicken head knob with pointer, but something that would provide a 'feel' for the current selection vs the completely round knob? Thanks.

Some manufacturers have used a chicken head knob for this. Way back when, I had a Gibson Blues Hawk that employed this type of know. So did a BC Rich Mockingbird I once owned.

While a chicken head would functionally achieve the objective, visually it would be to unappealing. Perhaps just a deformity on the current knob could provide the feel for what position the selector is currently in, and allow a quick change to the next position...
