I'm new to this forum. I never really saw myself as a PRS guy (I'm kind of a Les Paul/Marshall die-hard), but I tried out a 2 Channel C in a store one day and ended up leaving with it under my arm. It has a clean tone that plays in the vintage JTM 45 zip code, which I really like, and gets fat, honking and singing on the lead channel (or on the clean channel cranked). Can't figure out why the PRS amps aren't talked about more. Anyway, I'm happy to be here and will be grateful for any help I might receive with my question.

I'm putting together a small rack rig that's built around a Rocktron Patchmate Loop 8 rack MIDI switcher and a Behringer FCB1010 (Uno). This is the first rack rig I have ever put together, and I have limited experience with MIDI. I've managed to program the FCB1010 and sync it with the Patchmate. As is often the case, the Patchmate's manual is not terribly clear about a few things. It's supposed to be able to switch amp channels, but says very little about how to program the Patchmate to do it. From what I can figure, I need to know whether the relay in the 2 Channel C is triggered by a momentary or latching switch signal. I'm guessing latching, but I don't know. I would appreciate any answers to this question, as well as any other tips that might help me more easily set up the Patchmate/FCB to operate the 2 Channel C's channel switching function.

Hey there. Congrats on the amp purchase. Those are killer. I have a Patchmate Floor and use it to change channels on my MB Lonestar. I don't know if the rack unit is the same, I just had to experiment with the In, Send, Return, and Out jacks on the Patchmate until I found the jack that triggered the channel change and the boost. I'm not sure if the 2 Channel footswitch cable is mono or stereo (TRS). If stereo, grab a Stereo Female to dual Mono Male splitter cable and run the two male ends into two different inputs on the Patchmate. Since this isn't in the audio path, you don't have to spend money on a high quality splitter. Here's the one I use:

The cable on the 2 Channel C is a stereo cable. and I believe it is a latch switch and not momentary...

Than you so much for the replies. Issue solved. It turns out that the Patchmate figures it out for itself. I simply connected a cable from he "return" jack for one of the loops to the amp's footswitch jack, and then program that particular loop into each patch for which I want the amp to switch to the lead channel. The Patchmate switches the channel back to clean for all other loops.

I am using a non-stereo cable because I am not using the amp's reverb. I am using an old Damage Control Glass Nexus for reverb, and it is easily programmable to allow the "mix" levels for reverb and delay to be adjusted by one of the two an expression pedals built into the the FCB1010 I am using as a controller. But thanks for the tip. This is the first rack-type rig I have put together, and 90% of the problems I have encountered have resulted from overlooking basics. In fact, I modded the FCB1010 to accept DC phantom power, thinking it would receive power from the Rocktron unit, but forgetting that the power from the Rocktron unit was AC. A puff of smoke later I was back to the drawing board on that mod.

If my level of knowledge about electronics were half the level of my fearlessness with wire-cutters and a soldering iron, I would be a legend.

Thanks again.
