Replacing 85/15s in CE24

I need a pickup recommendation. I love this CE 24 but absolutely hate these pickups. I find them muddy, shrill, too midrange and with awful pick attack. I've tried everything. I usually use a JB or a Custom Custom but want to branch out.
I really like my Twang King and Chopper set in my Kotzen Tele. I would like to get something that have a similar sound/feel. I'm huge into the way a pickup Feels. These 85/15 pickups feel dull and lifeless.

Sounds like 5909 set is what you want........or........5310 set.

Are you talking about 8515S in a seCE? The core 8515 may not be my fav but one thing they aren't is muddy. 8515S are meh at best.

5909 are always a win in my book, especially the bridge. Think hotter PAF. The \m/ is along the lines of your flavor and very versatile. I'm a huge fan of the Tremontis too but have never tried them in anything but a Tremonti. Another set not mentioned often is the DW tomahawks. They absolutely kill in the DW CE. Can always look for an older set of Dragon I
