Replacement tuners?

I'm considering getting a used 2007 SC245 which has those white plastic tuners. I REALLY hate plastic tuners and was wondering if there are any drop in replacements available. Will the phase II or III tuners fit? If not, what about 3rd party options?

My McCarty has those vintage style tuners and PH1 PH2 won't fit it. There is an issue with them being too tall or headstock being too thin and not allowing enough down pressure on the nut. There is the fact too that you will have to drill new holes for mounting screws. Kinda sucks as I really want lockers on it. I did buy the Gotoh vintage style tuners which do drop in but I don't like them. They look just like the tuners that came with it but they aren't as handy as PH1 or PH 2. I will sell the Gotohs eventually.

Bummer... but thanks for the info.

Grover 406C locking tuners are very excellent in the opinion of many, even though some people think that the buttons are too small. I'm cool with the look and vibe of the buttons; no big deal.

You might have to have the post holes reamed if yours has the vintage spec. or similar hole diameter. You probably could buy a hand reamer and ream the holes just to where the tuner bodies will just barely fit into the newly reamed bore hole. Avoid having slop there because of stability and strength.

A tech would put the Grover 406C's in for a small amount.
