Hi - just bought a gorgeous 2008 McCarty in Blueberry Quilt - great guitar & well cared for - but the hard case has damaged locks, left & right - the centre catch is fine - anyone know where I can get replacements, even if only the upper part ?? They seem riveted on tho, are these going to be a big problem to fit even if I can find some ?? Thanks for your help with this !! David, UK :-)

Depends how handy you are. You can find case parts here:

I love how-to stuff:

Hiya - thank you for your kind reply - I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but the catches shown on the Allparts site are just generic catches, they look quite different from the ones on PRS cases - PRS cases use a sliding lock, oh I don't need to describe them on a PRS forum :-) I imagine PRS have another company make their cases (like Gibson use TKL cases) so who is that company ?? I'm sure I'm not the only PRS owner who's needed new catches for a PRS case ?? Thanks again & best wishes !! David, UK :-)

You're welcome!

As I understand it, the folks who used to make the older PRS cases in Canada went out of business. I don't remember when that happened. Could have been before 2008.

The newer cases don't use the spring-loaded sliding catches. I'm sure if you did a thorough search you could find similar ones, though.

I'm that lazy guy who'd just replace the dang case. ;)

Thank you again. Oh I couldn't replace the case, would be such a shame (and expensive !!) as the case is "as new" apart from someone (maybe the previous owner ??) forced the outer lockable catches & they're now unusable. I'd always prefer to fix something if possible, especially for the sake of a pair of "five buck" catches (if I can find them, haha). I'll keep looking ...Thanks again & best wishes !! David, UK :-)

Ahh - so the locks are marked "Cheney, England" - the company no longer exists, but old stock is widely available (kvibe on eBay) - so I answered my own question, job done :-)
