Removing gloss from neck of SE Custom 24?

I recently bought a SE Custom 24, and I love it! The only thing I don't like is the very glossy neck. I'm more used to Fender satin necks.

I've read about using Scotchbrites, etc. to remove this gloss. How safe is that to do? Will it look (and feel) OK afterwards.

As an aside, what PRS guitars have a satin neck?

Thanks.

While scotchbrite is effective , I prefer 1500-2000 grit wet sand paper , it leaves no marks and breaks the gloss very well . Only take off what you need . go slow There are severalstain neck out there , most maple. Rosewood doesn't need a finish

Thanks for that. I might give it a go, although I’m quite worried about messing it up!
