I think "Max" is an actor. I've only ever known one guitar collector that is this much of an overplayed caricature of the "Type A" guitar guy.

Of course they would not dream of doing the obvious - contacting Gibson with a serial number to try to track the original specs of the guitar and it's original sale.....

Some people prefer a different size fret than what comes standard on a model and will yank perfectly good frets on a brand new guitar just to get their preferred size on. I don't understand this, but then, to each his own.And....that whole issue of the refret....makes me think that the entire guitar was refinished...it's too clean and "minty" for it to have been used to the extent that a re-fret would have been required.
Come on, if he "buys and sells guitars for a living" he should have known that it was refretted. I smell "Scripted reality" here.
So what's the verdict? And, even if it had been owned by Les....where is the value? Seems like a nice Gibson LP custom that may have been owned by Les...but, without direct provenance and paperwork supporting his ownership...it would appear to have the value of a production model.

Because they're just not making any new Lesses...
