Im going to trade one not-THAT-good lp of mine on a PRS singlecut. Definitely worth, but here's the problem: Mine has original Seymour Duncan PU, an JB. The "seller" says that the PRS has SD PU's too, but im a little doubtful with it's veracity...
He seems to be a little lay... and he doesnt know the PUs models...
He's on another state(SP) and his mom is coming to mine(RJ) next week, so she will bring his guitar and take mine. That way I can't unmount the PU's mounting to see the baseplate or anything like that before she arrives here.

First of all: Looks like he have put a bridge pickup on the neck position, since the pole pieces are not on the neck side. That's a bit weird

Second: Looking for the writing on his pickups, it seems to be a different font.

Third: He said that he took the strings off last week, but wtf, why not to put new ones?? IDK, maybe he's trying to hide something... And the speed knobs are not the originals. Its ok, i'll change'em later but getting all that togheter, there IS a chance that he had put fake PU's on the guitar?

(The black flamed is the PRS and the red quilted is my LP with original SD(On avatar) )

I've seen a video that someone posted on his facebook of him playing a TOTALLY out of tune guitar... he really doesnt seem to know not even a little about guitars... I asked him know if he bought from someone else. Maybe he already bought her that (maybe f*cked) way and doesnt know... but anyway, what do you guys think about that topics about the pickups?

If the guy seems like a total hack and the deal is shady, it's not worth it. Better to pay a little more for something you know is in good condition, than get a deal on a glorified paperweight.

Before actually doing the trade, i'll check all that stuff, look at the pu's baseplate, pots and wiring... If the guitar is in good to "medium" condition in action, finish, the truss rod, tuners and bridge are ok, i think it'll be a good trade. The pickups, in the worst case scenario, i can change later...

The only PRS guitars that I know of to have SD's stock were the Soapbars. Those Duncans were definitely added after it was purchased.

Yeah, I know... I asked him if himself changed the pickups and he said that she came with it. So we can conclude he bought it that way from somebody else and really doesnt know about it...

I once got an SE Singlecut that had Duncan's in it. THe twit who sold it tried to tell me that they had been professionally installed. We think he put them in himself, there was a lot of electrical tape and no soldering. After threatening him and making him pay to have it fixed, I ended up selling the guitar. BEWARE! Don`t make my mistake. THis sounds totally shady.

Well, since its me who do the soldering and maintenance of my guitars, if the pickups are original SD's, the wiring being messy is not a problem...

The guitar is in REALLY great condition!
And with real duncans ( Jazz Model Bridge and Pearly Gates (in love) Bridge).
(yeah i know its missing a string, at least its not missing 5 anymore LOL)
