That's the path. I keep a Suhr Reactive Load just in case I get another amp. I love it. I use my Helix Rack as my IR loader, though I do have Two Notes Wall of Sound and the THU Super Cabinet. Both of those are loaded with great IRs.
Here are some example paths I would run:
1) Guitar -> amp -> Suhr -> Helix -> Interface -> DAW
2) Guitar -> amp -> Suhr -> Interface -> DAW. Then, in the DAW (I use Protools) I have my track armed to record off the interface. I have that track's output running to an AUX. The AUX has Wall of Sound or Super Cabinet on an insert. The output of the AUX is sent to the outputs of the DAW so I can monitor through the IR I have loaded.
After I record the track I want, I insert an IR loader onto the main track. I make the AUX inactive, change the guitar track's output to the stereo outs so I can monitor.
Mostly I use the Helix, though. Tough thing about that is the fact that the IR is printed to the audio - can't change it. Using a plugin IR loader gives me flexibility all the way to the end of the mix.
