Rarity of Natural Tops

I consider the natural finish on maple uncommon rather than rare. One of the more uncommon ones is my Archtop II in natural quilt. It looks even better in person.

Maple grain pops more with a lot of other stain colors thus perhaps one of the reasons brighter or darker colors are considered more appealing in comparison.
Geez, Mel. I wish you'd pop in more often. Most of the people here don't know what a world class collector you are, and how fine your instruments are!

Finally moved and just starting to get to where I can take some photos...

This is a natural Paulownia top from my Tony Yamamoto 28.6 scale Baritone acoustic. Fingerboard, back & sides are Brazilian Rosewood w/ Koa purfling; the bridge is Ebony w/ bone. It's incredibly inspiring to play.
