Random. No more or less

You need some concert vibes in your life right now without spending a dime?

I have been watching these tribute acts and honestly Led Zepplin just takes it all. And Ozzy! Amazing but I think they could of picked a better Zak Wylde. He was really amazing but some of the riffs didn’t add up! My ear kept on telling me this was close but NO cigar!

Could super glue help?
I tried that! It’s an open nick with lots of tiny skin flaps. I trimmed them all back. I filed the skin with an emery board. I just got the edges with the super glue but it went right into the open wound part and stung like an SOB. I need a break anyhow.

Thank you for your suggestion.

Taking a break from playing for just tonight. Got a nick from the butcher knife on my index fretting finger. Annoying
I covered for you tonight. I got almost 90 minutes in. Started on the Blistertone but then went “home” and played the Archon for the last 40. That thing just SMOKES! And THAT is MY TONE! Sometimes I wonder why I even have other amps….

Thanks for that! I am assuming they are Amps?

I was trying to figure out roughly how many hours I have put into my playing in the course of 13 years. Guesstimate 15,000 hours.? Idk

Yes, PRS amps!

I’ve never really thought about how many hours I might have played before, since at this point I wouldn’t even have an idea of how to guess.

How I figured mine out was roughly how many hours during the week and the weekend marathons of 5-6 hours Saturday, Sunday and holidays. I have made concessions for my migraines and when I was sick. It’s amazing how good my memory is when it comes to do with anything guitar related. But I can’t even remember where I put my phone half the time. I get hubby to call it after I hear him say you lost your phone again.

Two pet peeves.

Applying for jobs online I absolutely hate it. I am used to meeting with a person and having a cordial convo about the job snd then giving whomever my resume. I am disgusted by the lack of human interaction.

I am trying to set my pedal board up that I dismantled years ago. Everything works but what a PITA! Big time!

Installing a security system today. Got a door bell camera as well. Our neighborhood is starting to decline unfortunately. Fortunately or unfortunately there is about to be a population explosion in our direct neighborhood. They are building 75 yes you read that right 75 condo+ business condos. They will never have the infrastructure in place to support this. They are trying to make this like Toronto.

??? Are you joking? not sure...
:D
I only know what I like. I am not well versed in different name brand amps. As long as the volume goes to 11 Idc. The only amps that I have a particular fondness for are old school Marshall stacks and old school Mesa boogie amps. This
Is where I fall dreadfully in knowledge about anything.

Ok, sorry about that. I was just thinking that as much as we talk about them here, you would have heard about them, especially the Archon which I've had for a few years.

To relate that, I have always wanted a high gain Marshall type tone, and always wanted some of the many great tones I heard from Mesa Boogies. When I got the Archon, I had 5 Mesa amps, including a Mark V. I sold all of them after getting the Archon. I can be dialed to high gain JCM800 tones, and many other incredible tones, and it's SO easy to dial various tones in. I loved a few of my Mesa amps, but after getting the Archon, I knew it was #1 and they woldn't get played much. Since selling, I've wished I had a couple back, and considered trying a few of the new models (TC, Fillmore, and now Mark VII) but every time I turn the Archon on, I know it's exactly what I want from gain tones.

Saturday, date night. Got a beautiful hot chocolate and a tea for hubby. We went and sat down at the lake for an hour last night. It was really cold. I wore my long winter coat. The water, unbelievably cold. Last week
it was still quite warm to the touch.

Great photo!

My curiosity is up. I sort of know what kind of music you like. We have some commonalities between us in regards to the bands we like. I will check that Archon amp you talk about. The money I wish I had right now! I could absolutely buy something if I sold my 4 guitars but frankly I would rather die a slow agonizing death then sell any of them.

These are very expensive amps. I would love to try one. I think a trip to the local music store is in order today. I am going to take my SG with me. I do like my Katana but could kick myself for selling my Marshall.

Oh, if you try an Archon you're doing to love it. It probably has more gain than you want, so if you try one don't be afraid to turn the gain down.

I am headed over to the music store as soon as my hubby gets home. Yes, he’s driving and is not supposed to be. Silly man.

For virtuosity of almost all activities, the rule of thumb is 10,000 hours of focused practice is the standard. If you practice 5 hours a day every day that would be about six years. Most top guitarists started fairly young (early teens) and devoted nearly every waking hour to learning, playing and practicing.

I’m more of a slacker who had way too many other things going on to do that 5-6 hours a day stuff. :p

Before I got married, I pretty much played either softball or basketball almost every night of the week. At last 5 days a week. So work, then ball, then come home and shower and THEN get to play guitar for a little while. Of course, I’m no virtuoso.
