Random. No more or less

I just woke up. Didn’t realize I had fallen asleep with a king sized Aero chocolate bar right beside me. Wow. That could of been a serious mess!

I did this recently, I sometimes chew peppermint gun for an upset stomach... you can see where this is going...

Woke up, no gum... not in my moth anyway. On my shirt, on the sheets, in my hair...

Do you ever get that feeling that playing seems to be taking a back seat to everything else in your life? This is absolutely heart breaking for me. And no, I am not being dramatic. I don’t know how to dig myself out of this hole

It's been an interesting week. While I live in one of the places least prone to natural disasters, we've had floods, tornadoes, and last night a minor earthquake.

Anyway, jokes, although probably not good ones.

How many surrealists does it take to change a light bulb? FISH!

How many performance artists does it take to change a light bulb? I don't know; I left at intermission.

How many clarinetists does it take to change a light bulb? Only one, but he'll go through ten to find just the right one. (Relates to reeds).

A German Shepherd walks into a telegraph office to send a message to his owner. He dictated, "Woof. Woof woof woof. Woof woof. WOOF!" The operator tallies up the words and tell the dog he could send three more "woofs" for the same price. The German Shepherd cocks his head and says, "But that wouldn't make any sense at all."

An anecdote rather than a joke: I met James Moody, a jazz saxophonist, a few times. Someone asked him why he learned saxophone. He said, "Women! When I was young women loved saxophone players! But by the time I got good they were all about guitarists. But that's all right," Then he turned around and pointed at the small hair knot at the back of his head, exclaiming, "I've got a proper ponytail!"

In the immortal words of John Lennon "Life is what happens when your busy making other plans!"!! You'll find your way out, your passion for the playing is strong enough to lift you!!!

It’s a sh*tty day. Ben is really sick, no appetite and very lethargic. We just took him to the vet. We have to wait until tomorrow to get his blood results.

This hurts so much when someone you love is sick. He’s has stayed cuddled in my arms for a good part of the day!

You’re in a good head space when you realize that nothing can hurt you anymore. Life has thrown all of us so many curve balls. I realized that I am invincible( exceptions for death and taxes.) I am a survivor!

Take stock of your life! Look at all the horrible things some of us have endured. Believe in yourself and your unique talents. Love yourself!

Things are starting to really cook!

I was talking to a client about concerts yesterday that we have attended over the years. When we started talking Van Halen I was so high on excitement that I had to excuse myself and leave the room. The passion is still there. I thought I lost a bit of it but realized I still got it.

PS sorry if this is too emotional or whinny for some.

This song's before your time, but it's still got a thoughtful message:

And RIP David Crosby.

Winter weather will be brutal this year, with tons of snow all over Canada.

The Farmers’ Almanac predicts a “winter whiteout” for most parts of the True North. Those who love snow sports and frosty winter vibes will be in their element, but the same can’t be said about Canadians with driveways to shovel.

I am so excited for this particular winter to start. Fewer migraines and a huge driveway to shovel. I’am in my element, 2 am, tunes cranked and I am such a happy camper with a shovel in hand. I get a full body workout in this, fresh air and the cold. I love it.

I’m loving your last line Lola. I thought I was alone in looking forward to shoveling snow as a cross training winter workout. The snow is much easier to enjoy fully now that I’m no longer doing a daily 100 mile round trip commute to work.

Congrats as I assume your retired now? I just can’t retire ever. I will work right up till the day before I die. I will be 58 this November. I have to be busy 24/7. It’s a coping mechanism. The busier I am the better for me personally. I am a high octane kind of person.

The Almanac is wrong WAAAAAAY more than it's right. Definitely for the last 30 years I've paid attention to it. Quaint little book, but I wouldn't rely on it for accurate seasonal predictions.

You have fewer migraines in the winter? Interesting. Why do you think that is?

Just damn well snow and lots if it.

Migraines. Possibly the hemodynamics changes that occur in winter. Just speculation as I really don’t know why and don’t care. The less of these nightmares that happen obviously I am more of a better person. I can function at warp speed in my daily life. I love to multitask 10 things at once because where I work you have to multitask. I love it and hate doing one thing at a time.

Funny, I've spent the last several years trying to eliminate multitasking from my life, in an effort to "be here now", "live in the moment", not "rush to my death" LOL. I always think of Winchester on MASH: "I do one thing at a time, I do it very well, then I move on."

For me personally this is a coping mechanism. It’s very healing for me and I feel so good. This is how I function best. My goal everyday is today outdo myself compared to yesterday. I love challenging myself constantly. For me this is perfect. That’s how I roll!

Stayed up most of the night playing. It’s been a crazy week and I haven’t been able to play because of the current demands on my time. No one is here except me and my 3 doggos. I shut all the windows and cranked my amp up to number 5 at 100 watts on my Katana. I took my amp out into the living room. Just more space. I played until just about 4:30 am. What a blast! The best part is I am getting so much better at improvising! ❤️ The passion just never dies. I thought it took a left but it’s intact and I couldn’t feel more empowered.

Ppl just go through the motions without any passion attached to what there doing. Quite often ppl like that give up fail and dust settles on that neglected guitar(s) sitting on the guitar stand!

Did the excitement of playing die for some of you? Am I among the few that are still crazy passionate about playing and can’t contain it.

I am in the top of the highest mountain peak screaming with delight! This is the feeling I live for or am seriously addicted to. This feeling is the absolute best feeling ever! Nothing can top this! Stellar.

Outside now guitar and coffee in hand playing on the deck sans amp.

Playing hookey at work today. Going to the Canadian National Exibition instead. The downside is the heat and crowds. My husband loves going so I will just be quiet and enjoy the ride. He’s after that almighty Corn dog!

Inflation is crazy at the CNE. $5 small bottle of water. To get simple fries $10 for a small which fed me with my husband nibbling on the sides but I packed a lunch for both of us. I just can’t do take out anymore! The sun was disgusting and walking around in 90 degree temperatures was entirely too much.

And this fat acceptance ideology was very evident yesterday. Ppl wearing stuff they shouldn’t. Ppl in the food building on their scooters with the fat just oozing out the sides of their vehicle while stuffing their faces. These ppl make me sick. No will power or self pride. Just disgusting. I am far from perfect but I know what reality is and how these stupid left wing politics affects one. Healthy at any weight? My *ss!

Either love me or hate me! Drc.

Don't know about up in Canada, but down here in the US, I see as many overweight people in red states as in blue. Maybe more. I seriously doubt that politics is affecting our population's weight. Personally, I think that our food industry, with its reliance on unhealthy additives (high fructose corn syrup for example) is the culprit.
