Tragic loss for all us Yes fans. He was truly the heartbeat of this epic band. By far my favorite bass player with too many great bass lines to name. Shame he won't be around when they eventually make it into the rock n roll hall of fame (not that he'd consider that a crowning achievement).
Our bass player was pretty bummed out when we got to rehearsal yesterday. Chris was a pretty big influence on him in his early playing days. Sucks, he was awesome.
Definitely one of the most memorable rock bassists, and a huge inspiration to me. Saw Yes live several times, with several lineups. Only he and Alan White were in all the lineups I saw.
He will be sorely missed.
