Such a bummer. Born to lose, lived to win. R.I.P. to one of the most iconic frontmen ever.

There is no easy way to say this…our mighty, noble friend Lemmy passed away today after a short battle with an extremely aggressive cancer. He had learnt of the disease on December 26th, and was at home, sitting in front of his favorite video game from The Rainbow which had recently made it’s way down the street, with his family.

We cannot begin to express our shock and sadness, there aren’t words.

We will say more in the coming days, but for now, please…play Motörhead loud, play Hawkwind loud, play Lemmy’s music LOUD.
Have a drink or few.

Share stories.

Celebrate the LIFE this lovely, wonderful man celebrated so vibrantly himself.

HE WOULD WANT EXACTLY THAT.

Motörhead Tribute Footage - Previously Unreleased

Folks, given the unfortunate news of Lemmy, I figured I'd share with you the only footage I have, that I took from Mayhemfest, side stage on July 27th, 2012. Happy to share this fine memory of seeing Motörhead live! ENJOY! Only scene with Lemmy is at 2:52

I only got into Motorhead into the last few years, but I've known who Lemmy was for years. I was a bit surprised at how hard the news hit me when I read it the other night.

Lemmy was the real deal. If you look up "Rock Star Lifestyle" in the Encyclopedia Galactica, it says, "See 'Lemmy'".

The documentary 'Lemmy' is well worth tracking down. Fabulous story. There's a great song at the end - I emailed the producers about it, and they said it was some solo stuff Lemmy had done. Hopefully it sees a release someday.

THE moment of the directory, for me, was a scene where Lemmy and his son were sitting in his apartment surrounded by his memorabilia. The interviewer asked Lemmy what he thought the most valuable thing in the room was. There was barely a silence between the end of the question and Lemmy's answer - "My son. What else could it be?"

RIP, Lemmy. You were Motorhead. You played rock and roll.
