Quick ? about the Archon 25 watt Pine combo.

Are the PRS combo amps made of pine, birch or do you have option to choose?

I'm interested in getting a combo one day and having options.

And has there ever been a combo, head or cab made from Maple , Mahogany, Oak, etc.

I believe it is pine, but cannot confirm that. Not sure you'll have too many options unless you go CAD.

The 1x12 combo cab I use is pine. Yes, cabs can be made of almost any wood you want. Some sound better than others for certain applications. PRS has done this service in the past. Others, like Mesa/Boogie, have made a reputation for doing this for decades. There are some pretty and interesting examples out there.

As I understand it... Cabinets which can be made from a lumber industry standard piece of pine, not to exceed about 12 inches in width will be made from pine. Bigger cabinets which require a wider board than what a pine board is capable of will be made from birch plywood. Thus, thin 2x12 cabinets are pine. Big fat 4x12 cabinets are birch.

My new HXDA amp cabinet looks like pine. Have a look.
