Questions for USA Tremonti Owners

So, I'm planing out my next NGD. I know I want a PRS Singlecut. What I havent decided is which model I want (SC245, Stripped 58, or Tremonti). My local Guitar Center has a Stripped 58 that I was able to play (VERY nice guitar btw). However, no USA Tremonti models. They did have an Tremonti SE custom though. So my question (as Im sure its been asked before) is, does the SE model really compare to USA model? Ive seen the vid where Mark himself says that the SE model is VERY close to the USA model, but is it really? Is it fair to base my opinion of the USA Tremonti on playing the SE Tremonti?

The more I think about it, the more I think the Tremonti is a good fit for me as it has the same scale length and neck carve as my Custom 22. Im not much of a trem player, but I figure the Tremonti will give me something new to learn.

NO. As good as the SE's are the US Tremonti is a rock solid guitar with no excuses. If you want a single cut trem guitar with a wide thin neck that stays in tune, plays awesome, and sounds as heavy as you need it to be you can do no better. Clean sounds are good but not great but that is not its forte.

Think of it like a car.... you have the base model and the super sport package. The SE is the base model - itll get you close to the tone you want with good feel and an appealing price. The USA Tremonti, however, is the top of the line sport package with the fancy trim, finely tuned engine and racing hardware. If you can swing it or want to stick with one guitar for a long time, go for the USA. If you're concerned about a budget, an SE is unbeatable in its price range.

I've had a couple of tremonti's pass through my hands. Bear in mind the trem gives a different attack/sustain/decay envelope and with a slightly different timbre than the hardtail. I actually think the singlecuts sound better with trems (ymmv) and have a couple SCT's myself. I point this out since you have a stoptail currently? and I know these days, many people (myself included) buy on the internet.

Since there's no more SC250 nor Chris Henderson models, I wish PRS made a non term USA Tremonti. a 25" scale length single cut is missing on the core line, IMO
by the way, SE guitars is a lot for the money, but the USA ones feels, sound, looks, taste and smell better. I think it's worth the extra $

Thanks for the input guys. I really appreciate it. Like some of the others said, I really like the 25" scale length on my hard tail Custom 22. So a used SC250 could be in the running here too. I have the budget for a USA model, so no restraints there. However, my only other trem guitar is an American Standard Strat, so the idea of singlecut trem really intrigues me.

Im really wanting this guitar to my "metal" guitar. The more and more I think about it, the more the Tremonti seems to make sense. I was just curious how SE Tremonti really compares to the USA Tremonti and if its safe to compare the two. Seems like its not really a fair comparison.

Both are great choices, you get what you pay for.

I had a similar choice to make not too long ago and the Tremonti Signature (USA model) was it. It is a quality, solid and substantial guitar (can be a bit heavy but that's fine). Excellent playability, tone and sustain. All that and it handles high gain really well, plus it looks and feels great too.

The Tremonti is a rock beast! I heard one person call it a pissed off Les Paul..I wouldn't go that far but it is very hot. Just amazing guitars.

I own a Tremonti 10Top CB...and I agree with all that has been said above. But...I must add that It needs a good Amp. My Line6 Spider IV 75 can't do the job.

I bought my PRS on July 2013...It tooks 666€ in 4 months ? I wonder why the guitar is now more expensive ?
