Question

I use my tone and volume a lot and it fluctuates, especially from guitar to guitar. So many different tones can be had as needed by the simple roll of a dial

There's a video of Andertons and Marsden with The Beast. If you watch that it's a lot like me minus his skills!

Around 5 or 6. I like headroom.

Put guitar to 10, turn up amp until pretty loud, then dial back the guitar volume to reasonable level....5 or 6 usually. Then there's some volume dynamics that can be used.

It depends on the guitar, but generally it sits at 6-8 when I pick up the guitar and gets nudged a bit from time to time. I move it about half a step when I switch from picking to finger style.

The outlier is a prototype Les Paul I have that sits at about 3. Les Paul put some experimental pickups in it that just scream.

For me the Santana is a 8 - 10 volume 3 - 4 tone. The 245 is 7 - 10 on both volumes and 3 on the bridge tone 7 on the neck tone. The CU 24 and the HB2 are 6 - 9 volume and 6 tone.

It all really depends on what kind of noise i want to make.
