Question on Faded Blue Smokeburst finish

Hey folks, I'm looking at getting a 35th anniversary S2 Custom 24 and was thinking about either the Whale Blue or Faded Blue Smokeburst finish. I've seen so much variance on the faded Blue tops in pictures. Some of them look more Blue and others more purple and/or grey. Anyone have this model in Faded Blue? Other comments or thoughts on this finish?

The wood affects the finish color, but the lighting is probably the #1 variant. I like blue guitars and have owned several. I find that they are always much darker in person than the photos suggest unless you are in sunlight or heavy stage lights.

Are some of these faded Blue Smokebursts actually a little purpleish in person? I have never seen one. Just pictures.

At this point I think I'm leaning more towards the whale blue, although I have seen some beautiful faded blue smokeburst Hmm..

I was at sweetwater over last holiday weekend and in the store light there was some purplish tint on the S2 I was looking at. I'm real particular about that because of the light in my house. If a blue can look purple at all it will at my place.

That said I was at another store a couple days later and a CE in that light had no purple at all.

That is a nice finish.

Mine's a very greyish blue.

Was actually considering the exact same thing for next year. That or the amber version. This one has a very smoky look. I like.
