If you can do it, get the CE. No question. Incredible guitar. On the flip side, I’ve only ever played one SE that I liked enough to buy but I didn’t really love it so I passed and bought a Gretsch that day instead. It was a SE Custom 22 semi hollow. The CE is just awesome, especially if you play in a band setting.![]()
Thanks guys, appreciate it...I'm only a home player approaching intermediate level !
I've always loved the feel of Fender Strats , definitely not a LP type.
My eye was on the SE Custom 24 08 ---the new carve makes it beautiful!
But now looking at the CE I'm kind of of torn...I see it comes closest to a Strat feel, next to the John Mayer Silver Sky.
Thoughts?
I have a Fender Strat, a Silver Sky, and a CE24. Nothing “feels” like a Strat other than a Strat, in my experience. The Silver Sky has the feel while you’re playing but once you grab the controls and the trem arm it is a little bit different. The CE is quite different to play but not in a bad way at all. And it’s nothing like a Les Paul. If I could only keep one guitar it would be my CE. With the Silver Sky, PRS has beat Fender at their own game as far as production guitars go.Thanks guys, appreciate it...I'm only a home player approaching intermediate level !
