I have a prs se torero equipped with the 1000 series original floyd rose. I have tried to find a black version of the same model but haven't had any success. Does anyone have any suggestions for another replacement that will use the same spacing or at least require minimal routing? It doesn't have to be a floyd rose product, just whatever will fit the spacing (and is black).

There's a black chrome one on reverB right now. Otherwise any dealer listed on their site probably could order a new one.

If it fits (which I think it will), try an Ibanez Original Edge. Best made and feeling tremolo I've ever tried, which includes OFRs. You can find black trems easily.

Totally agree about the Ibanez Original Edge. I own a Jem with this tremolo, and man, it's sweet. Incredibly stable.

I bought an open box Cosmo Black (Black Chrome) floyed Licensed Gotoh it was 75 dollars. And I have matching Gotoh tuners to complete the Cosmo Black make over.

Put a big brass sustain block on that trem. And while you're at it, remove the shim and finger tension plate. The trem doesn't need them, and they suck tone. You'll thank me.

I've got the stock PRS Floyd in my Torero. I don't know what it is but the sustain is ridiculous. I don't know why I'd change it by adding a brass block.

I'm curius about the comments about 'sucking tone'. I wouldn't mind getting a bit o a fatter sound.

What is the "shim and finger tension plate"?

My friend Adam Reiver owns a company called Floyd Upgrades. He does upgrades of EVERYONE you could think of in rock guitar. He either has or can get you a that Floyd. If Adam can't get it for you.. no one can. The website is FUTone.com. I think his phone number is on there. Tell him Matt from Pro-Active Websites sent you. He's a GREAT guy.

The shim and finger tension plate are the two parts between the sustain block and the trem baseplate.
