I'm going with my brother on Sunday to look at a Paul Allender SE that he is interested in buying. It's a 2013 model with the EMG pickups and carved top.

I was just wondering if anyone on here owns one and might be aple to shed some light on things to look out for on it.
Sometimes if you only have 20 minutes with a guitar in a shop you cant pick up on things that you would notice if you'd been playing the guitar for 6 months.

Any advice would be grately appreciated.

I had one and it was a very versatile guitar. You've got the EMG clean/scream thing, and the coil splits for each pup.
The necks are very thin, so that's a personal preference thing.
Run it through it's paces and test all the controls. And try it through a couple of different amps if you can...
Enjoy!

I had one for a very short time in early 2013. I would say it played really well. I was surprised at how comfortable the neck was. The EMGs were very versatile and sounded awesome through a BOSS Blues Driver into a Fender Deluxe amp. The one thing I had issues with, and it's due to my playing a 12 string acoustic at same time - I just gripped too hard for the jumbo frets. I tried for about 2 weeks to adjust my grip, but ended up returning it. If I could get one with standard frets I'd probably grab it since it was a really solid gigging guitar, but that's just not an option.
