Hi all. Wanted to see if the community could pass on any insights about how Purple Mist looks in real life (and yes, I know I have to go to see one at a dealer in person!).
I am curious as to whether this color tends to generally look more grey unless there is very particular lighting to bring out the purple. I recognize of course every guitar takes the stain differently, and with anything handmade there will be variance.
Based on photos online, I see some that look very vibrant purple but I am not sure if some of that may be due to bumped up saturation/vibrance and contrast on photos. Others look a lot more grey. On PRS's own website the color tends towards grey on the page for the Custom 24:
but much more purple on the page for the Custom 24-08:
I also noticed that Sweetwater are now calling their Custom 24-08s "Purple Mist/Charcoal" which seems like an interesting choice and not what PRS calls them officially.
Any insights would be really appreciated!
