Is the hardware listed on the PRS website the american made models? And if so has anyone changed theirs out in a SE or S2 model and noticed any improvements?

Thanks,
-Geyzer

The items described specifically as SE or S2 are just that, everything else is USA Core model stuff. Many people espouse swapping out SE parts (pups, knobs, switches, etc) for the USA versions - the pups for a "better" sound, the nut for better tuning stability and maybe sound, the other hardware for reliability.

It is very much a YMMV-type situation.

I'm going to be swapping out the volume/tone pots on an S2 Singlecut as I will be installing Tremontis in it. Does the rotary switch need to be swapped out too? (I know a lot of people just switch all the electronics out, but if I don't have to I'd rather not)

You won't get the best sound unless you swap those pots out for something over 500k. The premium cts 550's would do the trick. You'll have to ream the mounting holes out to 3/8 though. The switch would be a good idea as well as the Jack. You'll need short shaft for everything on an se, not sure on a s2. For the pots get a good pio cap and wire it vintage style for the secret sauce.
