Question about early CE24

Hello all!

Quick question, did early CEs (1989/90) with maple boards ever come with black dots? Every image I find has abalone dots, but I´m looking to get one locally and it has black, strat looking dots... Everything else seems ok.

While we´re at it, I understand these old ones with the three way swich have a split middle position, is this correct?

I have never seen one with black dots.

I suppose it’s possible someone had them replaced because the abalone does kinda disappear, or can be hard to see on the maple board with a yellowing nitro finish.

And yeah, the earliest ones with the 3 way had a split for the middle position.

Or the person selling has simply put black dot stickers over the hidden treasure Abalone dots. A mystery!

Maybe a Johnny Hiland signature? It has BIG dots, but black dots none the less?
