Question about 1999 PRS McCarty McSoapy Trem.

I have a buddy who has one of these in really good condition that he might be interested in selling.

He's asking $2200 for his.

He says that these guitars are VERY rare and special, and command good money.

I've played the guitar, and I do like the guitar, but are these guitars worth what most ask for them?

I understand a guitar is only worth what someone would pay for THAT guitar, but what is the board consensus on these guitars?

IIRC there are 18 of them in total and they’re pretty sought after. $2200 doesn’t seem unreasonable for that one, it’s gorgeous.

I'd agree with this. I think it's a fair price.

I thought there were even less than that, like 13, IIRC?


But yeah, they’re rare. I have a buddy who’s obsessed with these, and have seen a few more than usual pop up for sale lately (and not moving) at $2000.

That’s not to say they’re over priced, or his price isn’t good.... there’s just a weird dip in the market for these at the moment.
