If an authorized PRS dealer purchases a used, legitimate private stock where the documentation has been lost (stolen?), can he obtain a facsimile of the original COA.
As consumers, I know that we can't get reprints or facsimiles of said item regardless of circumstance.
Thanks for your help.

IIRC, COA's are supplied to the original owner, and if lost or stolen, are not available to subsequent owners.

Here's what's available from the PRS website regards 'Model History.'

PRIVATE STOCK: 1996 - Current. Non-production instruments. Each guitar is individually made for a specific customer and comes with a letter from Paul Reed Smith documenting the history of the instrument.

Sorry if this doesn't answer your question as well as you'd like. Somewhere from my past history with PS, a sales guy said the factory doesn't reprint or copy the COA. Maybe they've changed their policy, but this sounds like a question for either the PTC or customer service...
