Push/Pull tone knob not coil tapping

I just swapped pickups in my SE 277 baritone—now, the push/pull tone knob that is supposed to split coils doesn't seem to be working. I notice the coil split sound when the tone is maxed out on 10. If I have the tone set at 8 or below it sounds like the full coils. Any tips for how to fix this?

I noticed that the original black and bare wires were soldered together on the back side of the tone pot. That's what I did here with the Bare Knuckle pickups—the black and bare wires together on both sides of the tone pot. I just removed the other wiring and reused the same solder here... not the best looking for sure!

Each pickup manufacturer uses its own wiring color code. So the black wires of a Bare Knuckle pickup do not have the same functionality as black wires of a PRS pickup. (Bare wires always go to ground regardless of who the manufacturer is, so you're good there).

If you bought the Bare Knuckle pickups new, than it should have included a printed pamphlet, and in that it state what Bare Knuckle's wiring color code is. If not, you can find it on their website.

Hopefully you took careful notes before you removed the PRS pickups, of which wire went. Because more than just the black wires will have to be translated to Bare Knuckle wiring color scheme.

if you have pics of what the PRS wiring looked like before you removed the pickups, please post it here.

We want to see where each wire from each pickup originally went. So picture of connections from the pickups to the 3 way selector switch, and picture of what wires from each pickup went to the push-pull switch.

I just realized I send the image of the toggle switch, not the tone pot! I did document all the wiring and colors before I swapped pickups. I guess I'll leave it as is for now, as the pickups are working and do sound good. I don't really coil split anyway.

This is my thought on the issue. Wrong wires going to the wrong place.
