Push/pull tone controls: does your 594 do this?

I'm trying to decide whether I'm hearing something real, or if I'm completely losing my mind.

Will you help out in the name of science and my sanity?

Plug in your 594, dial up a favorite amp sound, play a while with both tone knobs pushed down. Now pull up the neck tone knob and keep playing the bridge pickup. Do you hear a subtle difference? If so, what do you hear?

The 594s have too many knobs, I like to stick to 1 volume and 1 tone tops.

That sounds similar to some LP type wiring scheme. Does turning the neck volume up and down have the same affect when only the bridge pup is selected? I would think so
