I searched the site for an answer to this, but did not really find what I am looking for. I am purchasing an unused/mint 2010 Experience McCarty with 57/08s in it. Beautiful Volcano Red Quilt. Are experience guitars automatically Artist level models? How limited is one particular experience model/color. Is the build process the same? Thank you

Not sure if they were "Artist Grade" tops, or just "10" tops. I'll check mine when I get home...

That would be much appreciated. I know the one I am buying does not have a 10 on the headstock, but hang card says Special Order Quilt EXP..

My Experience 2010 Custom 24 has an "Artist Grade" top. It's one of a 200 piece run, one of 50 that were finished in Black Gold, and one of 25 (in this color) with a wide-thin East Indian rosewood neck.
It has 59/09 pickups with McCarty switching, and a number of other "appointments" that were specific to the Experience run.

This one?

Sorry, but I was commenting on the '08 Experience guitars (I think they were the first they did, just for the Experience). They were the first w/the 57/08 pups. They all came with a 10 top quilt and a peruvian mahogany neck...

My bad...

How did you find out all of those details about quantity? Thank you.

I bought my guitar at the Experience 2010 event.

Brent Moss (The Guitar Shop Canada) gave me an official PRS promo flyer that detailed the special features of this run of Experience 2010 guitars.

Wow, that is an eye-popping flame. Did you by it at Experience? I also have a purplehazel quilt 408. I am going to try to get to next years Experience now that I am hooked. Thanks

Yep....bought this one at the Experience in 2010.

If you attend next year's event, be prepared to be overwhelmed with the HUGE selection of "factory fresh" guitars that will be available for immediate sale.

I'm already lookin' forward to .Experience PRS 2015.........It should be an absolute Experience to remember! :top:

Are they going to have an Experience next year? Any news on events going on they mentioned after announcing no Experience this year?

Paul wrote this in the PRS Newsletter, March, 2014:

"After a lot of thought, we have decided not to hold Experience 2014 this September. We are actively planning some special celebrations for our 30th year at the factory and elsewhere".

Stay tuned to this forum for all of the up-to-the-minute news on what's next!!

Hi everyone,
After a lot of thought, we have decided not to hold Experience PRS 2014 this September. We are very actively planning some special celebrations for our 30th year both at our factory and elsewhere. I can't talk specifics just yet, suffice to say we have big plans, and we will be spending a great deal of energy to get things rolling. We'll keep everyone posted on the specifics as we can. To the fans, dealers, distributors, press, and artists who journey to Stevensville every year to enjoy and absorb our Experience PRS event, we thank you. Your support has been paramount to that event's success.
When we started in 1985, we had a vision of success for the future but no real understanding of what the next thirty years would hold. Thank you for being part of the PRS family. We look forward to celebrating with you soon.
My best,
Paul

Droooool.... :p

Why, Thank You.. Glad you like it. Once I get it, I will have my wife (professional photographer) takes photos to post, that is only if she can pry it out of my hands. FYI- I am now fully converted; TELE, STRAT, LP GONE. TWO PRS's. Next on the list will be one of the CE's, but that will be a while.
