Pups for 2006 McCarty

Hello to all first post here. I have a beautiful 2006 McCarty with a rosewood neck. Not loving the original pups. Any suggestions on pups that will give a brighter sound?

I have a 1999 Brazilian neck McCarty. I had PTC recently replace the pickups with 57/08s. Much more articulate and probably brighter as well.

The lack of "brighter sounds" is really the effect of the rosewood neck. Rosewood is more midrange than an already midrange mahogany. My McRosey has the same characteristic. My point is to say, be aware that anything you put in there is going to sound less bright than what they would be in a traditional woods made guitar. So pick a brighter pickup set. The 59/09's are definitely brighter but also powerful. If you are looking for mellow, these ain't it.

The Mira pickups are brighter also look at 59/09s

I had 59/09s in a RW neck SC Ted. That guitar was awesome! Highly recommend the 59/09

Contact Sherman at Stocktone Pickups if you can’t find the 59/09s. He makes amazing pickups and is a hell of a nice guy.
