Pattern Thin Convert!
Had a Charity gig in Ottawa, Ontario, on June 20th. Had a good time. Unfortunately, had some damage to the Aquamarine DC 245 PS on the trip. I had it in a cheap RoadRunner case. The plane to and from Ottawa was a Regional Jet, no room in the overheads for the guitar, so I had to gate-check it. On the way back, someone must have stepped on the case, or a lot of weight was put on it. That cracked the pickup ring:
Also, I got a nick in the finish on the top. I saw it happen, after the gig our Manager/Roadie had a few cocktails in him, and while helping the drummer pack up his kit, he accidentally banged a piece of the drum kit into my guitar on a stand.
I don't mind marks of the backs of my guitars, but I do on the fronts. So, the guitar went back to the PTC to address the two issues. I got it back a few weeks later, looking and playing great. Thanks, PTC Team!!
Funny thing was, I wasn't that upset about either incident. You think I would have been, as much as that guitar cost!
It did inspire me to do something I had been wanting to do for a while, which is to get a custom contour case built for my Aquamarine DC 245, that would protect it better than the cheap RoadRunner case.
Hoffee Guitar Cases, coincidentally located a 25 minute drive away from me, makes these KILLER custom Carbon Fiber Cases. I picked mine up today, I picked Silver with a Black Interior. They measure your guitar's dimensions, and totally customize the interior padding for a custom snug fit.
Anyway, the case turned out GREAT!! Jeff Hoffee is a good guy too, please let him know I referred you if anyone reaches out to him. Web site:

There are some cool options like shoulder straps and backpack straps, both of which I got but have not tried yet.
