So today I did some ad tracks with the PS 20th. It was the guitar's first paying gig. The guitar was so proud to be supporting itself, it treated me to lunch and bought a round of drinks afterward.

Turns out it's not only a great guitar, it's a real pal!

I think the guitar understands my hand problem, because it's been really making itself easy to play. And you know, it's got the classic "notes literally fly off the fretboard" kind of thing. I'm still blown away by the way notes and chords bloom and sustain.

So we had a great session, it and I. We're besties now.

Seriously, this might be the most amazing guitar I've ever played. So would you like to see a picture of it again? I sure would!

Here it is, in its very own space in the studio, ready to assist me with the mix, and work the controls on the synth.

In all your pics I don't think I've ever seen a guitar stand.

Even being extra careful, as I know you are, why no dedicated stands instead of balancing that beauty on a chair?

What if the big overdue Michigan earthquake hits while you are taking guitar porn pics for us?

I don't use guitar stands. I find them way too easy to tip, and too easy to trip on while working in the studio.

I have several in my storage room, but find them inadequate. I've yet to find a satisfactory guitar stand, none work as well as my most excellent chair!

The chair seat is very nice leather, and the guitar body sits in a pleat in the stitching of the seat. It is very solidly safe there. The seat back and arms are also padded leather, no danger of dings. That chair has held my guitars very well for 20 years. Including during a 2003 earthquake we actually had!

But 99% of the time in the studio, when not being played, they're in cases.

Most excellent.
Have I mentioned yet that I love this guitar?

The guitar says it loves you, too, and wonders if you're free for dinner and drinks soon?

Haha I'm actually the same way, I'll either hang it on the wall or lay it on the couch. I too am always scared I'll trip over it , when it's on the stand. Beautiful looking guitar Les.

Thanks! The guitar thanks you, too. ;)

Yup. Definitely one bad@ss guitar. I bet it would even have you back in a fight.

You might be onto something Les. You should buy a bunch of those chairs, cross out "office chair" on the box and write "guitar stand" and have a little side business. ;)

You pimpin' that already? I think you should name this guitar: "B!tch Better Have My Money!"

pick me up.

Hahahaha!

Hey! It's not an "office chair." It's a "well-padded, cushy, leather guitar stand that doubles as a chair."

That's a good philosophy that will keep your gear safe. Stay paranoid...it's healthy. ;)

I need to play that loudly. Just sayin'.

Except it's not paranoid...

I've knocked them over in my own studio, fortunately I've caught the guitars before they hit the floor. But I'm old and feeble now, and my reflexes aren't as sharp as they once were...so I stuck 'em in the storage room, where they've been for the last ten-fifteen years.

While visiting GC two years ago to pick up some cables, I was walking by a gaggle of guitars on stands, and they were blocking the aisle a bit. As I tried to shuffle by, my pant leg caught against the edge of one of the guitars on the stand, and tipped it over with the guitar on it, breaking off the headstock of an Epi they had on display.

I apologized profusely, and the manager said, "Don't worry about it, the stand was in the wrong place. This happens all the time."

I used to hang guitars on the wall. It looked nice, but dusting something shaped like a guitar is a certified pain and dust is acidic...

I have lots af stands I actually don't use too. I will sometimes put anstand in the crook of my L-shaped desk, but mostly the guitars stay in their cases when not being played.

So, I'm not sure why I asked in the first place except that it looks like you have more room in your studio than I do and might be able to put a stand to the left side of your desk out of the traffic path.

Something I just thought of... I NEVER put a guitar on a stand with a cable attached.

Looks great Les!
Yeah, I do not like floor stands either, but I sure like my wall mounts for when I have the guitars out.
Makes it easy to pick one up to play it, then put it back on the wall to prevent tripping over it.

My Santana has now been out of the case for a few months hanging on the wall, but it gets dusted about three times a week, so no worries.

The magic of Paul's short scale guitars at work! I love my santanas for the same reasons.

Beautiful guitar. Normally, I put my guitars back in their cases at the end of the day, but not yesterday. I left one standing up in a padded chair similar to Les's picture. Not sure what this means, but I do live in earthquake country.:)

Dramatic changes to my work arrangement in a few months will make such things much easier

pick me up.
I think we are on opposite sides of Les...unless I stop on my way back from Calgary next time I go.

It's great to see such a symbiotic relationship...even if she does seem to be a bit kinky ;)

These really are amazing instruments. I've been playing mine every day, and every time I open the case it "feels like the first time." Glad yours is earning her keep. Mine's a total freeloader :)

Heh. Mine's a guy, I think, 'cause it has a whammy bar hangin' there...

I love my other PRSes, but I think this may be the one with the most "it factor." It's magic the way the notes bloom. Maybe I just got an unusually good one, but I'll bet yours is the same way.

In any event, I really love playing this guitar. I'm hoping the nerve controlling my hand heals, and soon, so I can do a better job playing it!

Mucho bloomage indeed! This hangs neck and neck with my Jack Gretz WL McCarty - which I think I got a truly magical one. Possessed maybe, even. Much different sounding guitars, but comparable bloomage. You may have indeed gotten a truly spectacular one. Even if mine is "average" I'll take her any day of the week.

Again wishing you prompt nerve healing - but know you still sound and play better than most people who DO NOT have nerve issues.
