PRS Website

Does anyone else think that the PRS website is kind of lacking?

For a company that makes the best production guitars on the planet, their website doesn't have nearly enough pictures of the various guitars in the various colors they offer.

I'd love to see more beautiful pictures in all those amazing colors!

Also of note, I think that PRS should do a better job documenting past models, and keeping information on historical models, especially moving forward.

I'd love to see them retain information on historical models but if it's a choice between a great website or great guitars, I'll take great guitars.

I don't think I'd say "lacking" but I do prefer the old layout to the new one.

It would be cool if the page layouts were more printer-friendly. Like a lot of us of a certain age, I used to collect guitar catalogs and ephemera--I still have a few--and it would be nice if I could print out a specs page and some pics without having several pages' worth of blank space. Stuff that looks good on a computer screen doesn't necessarily translate to print, and since they don't do a print catalog anymore (not many companies do, these days), it would be nice if I didn't have to squint at a screen every time I wanted to get some info. And while we're on the subject, I'd like to see the print version of the Signature magazine come back--I can't stand reading a magazine on my iPhone!

I do agree especially because they use a great photographer, but I end up Googling the model and color I'm interested in. That generally leads me to dealer sites that have the guitar right there for sale. Enablement complete. Perhaps that's by design.

Yes, their site is awesome! Shame the product often doesn't live up to the web site.

I do feel that the PRS website doesn't get much regular updates. Also, the support page needs a makeover and information update I would say, lots of the newer stuff aren't included as of yet, like the wiring diagrams and model history stuff. And, still waiting for the 2014 price list....

Could definitely use more pics of the various finishes.
And the new layout is a step backwards from the old, only in my opinion. The new almost seems like a version suited for mobile platforms. And maybe that's what they were aiming for.

I had suggested in the past too of showing the backs of the various guitars too with each color.
I was hoping to get a nice light color on the back and neck of my 408 much like my son's semi hollow, but mine is dark.

A .pdf file catalog would be a great idea. Fender, Epiphone, and Martin have excellent catalogs in this format. The only publication I have ever seen PRS put out was the one and only newsletter I got when joining the Signature Club one year ago.

PRS used to put out absolutely gorgeous color catalogs, with fancy covers and the whole nine yards. Before that they had beautifully printed catalogs with loose pages stuck into a nice folder. But you know what, I'd rather have them concentrate on making great guitars than great pictures.

I think overall it's a good website. it's clean and well laid out, but...

More info on the guitars with more pics would be nice to see.

For what they charge, they can afford to take a few pictures. I find myself hoping Sweetwater has them in stock so I can rely on having some nice pictures of these guitars.
