PRS Vela!

I'm using a P90 SE for slide but he sure makes me think I could use that Vela! I love slide playing. I was impressed with how much base he was getting.

I like that the S2 line isn't just better SEs or less expensive core models.

With 3 (and counting) models that are unique to the line, I'm having a harder and harder time understanding the S2 haters.

That body shape suits the bevel very, very well. Much more so than the non-offset shapes.

I wonder if that Type-D pickup is the same size as a mini humbucker...

Looks hot as heck! Love the bridge - but really hoped for a more tele-like tone :-)

Interesting indeed! I find the color choices amusing: 4 versions of red-brown where you can see the wood, plus three solids: white, black, and seafoam. Anyone compare the official shots with the ones posted and then removed from the NAMM Winter thread?

I wonder if we'll hear anything about the Alex Lifeson SE Acoustic soon?

I need to listen to those samples...(which means using my phone, and getting it hooked into a small stereo, because work blocks me from time-wasting sites, so I have to waste more time getting around them...)

:flute:

So sweet! I'm glad we didn't have to wait too long for the release. I can't wait to play one.

Hmmm...the upper portion/horns are quite similar to the mm majesty...

Real curious to see how that bridge works out after awhile...

Love the look of the Vela and would love to give one a whirl!

Anyone have a price on this yet?

Steve

I'm sort of in to minds about this. on the one hand it sounds awesome, I love the body shape and the overall look of the guitar. bit disappointed in the choice of colours though. I don't think I have a need for one as I'm not sure it'll suit the sort of music I play. Or maybe I should invest in one and it might inspire me to play some different styles. Either way as soon as my local shop has one in I'll be heading down to play it and its great to see the S2 line becoming there own line and not just cheaper versions of the core models.

I think it looks and sounds great, I too am glad they are doing things S2 not available elsewhere. I also would like to see some more solid "classic/vintage" style colors but I guess its part of the cost savings to do it in same finishes as the other S2 models.

I tip my hat big time to PRS for the design of this one, its them taking a chance, and I feel it worked nicely!
