PRS TCI Pickups Explained

Helpful - thank you. It sounds like going with a 2019 Custom 24 08 containing the pre-TCI 85/15's is going to give me a great humbucker sound and still sound great split. Or do you think the TCIs sound better split? I know it's just an opinion, but some opinions are better informed than others.

I own the 35th anniversary which is essentially the 24/08. Went to buy a SC strat, bought this instead: we are still deeply in love

Maybe a direct question would be better! If you were choosing between a 2024 S2 Custom 24 08 with the TCI pick-ups or a 2019 Core Custom 2408 without the TCI pick-ups which would you choose? I know the new 2024 S2s come now with the same TCI pickups used in the Core model.

I would always choose the core. It is a better built guitar all around.

If the cost is similar or the cost difference doesn't matter that much to you, go with the 2019. You won't find that there's been a rush of people trading in their older guitars/pickups for the TCI'd versions. TCI is marketing. It's not something that has set the world on fire.
