I have two SSH 22s, one standard with the traditional mahogany neck and rosewood board, and one wood library with a torrified maple neck, satin neck finish, and rosewood board. In short, they are both fantastic and sound 99% the same with the differences being practically indistinguishable in a mix. If I had to describe the difference in sound, the one with the maple neck has a slightly more immediate attack and a hair more top end (a hair).
That said, I prefer my wood library from an all-around perspective. It’s lighter (lower 6s) due in part to the torrified neck, the neck feels AMAZING, and the guitar looks fantastic between the powder blue color and torrified, flamed maple neck. I relegated the standard SSH 22 to a backup and/or for alt tunings. That said, both are FANTASTIC guitars.
